Zulykha Azizi is no stranger to the field of addiction as her personal and clinical experience helped drive her passion to study and practice in the field of Psychology. She began her studies at California State University Fullerton obtaining a BA in Psychology. In addition to her passion for education she began working with children and teens as a counselor for the Boys and Girls Club of Orange County. She was intrigued to continue expanding her knowledge in the field of psychology by obtaining a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology Irvine. Post-Masters Zulykha completed her practicum and internship working as a therapist for the Women’s Transitional Living Center providing individual and family therapy for victims of domestic violence, homelessness, and substance abuse. To advance her understanding about the disease of addiction she completed her coursework to obtain a Drug and Alcohol Certification. She is currently in the process of completing the highest degree in Psychology by obtaining a doctoral degree in Applied Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles.
Zulykha is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who uses an integrated approach comprised of modalities from the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Brief Psychodynamic Therapy. Therapy is a space for the personal growth of each individual, to heal their wounds from past trauma, through being sober and working a program of recovery. Lastly, Zulykha speaks Farsi fluently, is happily married with two beautiful children, and most weekends consist of spending time at the beach with her family.
